Before we reached Benezette we stopped at the Marion Brooks Natural Area number 3 on the Department of Conservation and Natural Resource’s Elk Scenic Drive map. We wanted to show Rachel the only state natural area named for a woman. As a citizen of nearby Medix, Brooks had been concerned about water quality in her area and helped to establish some of the first strip mine reclamation laws in the commonwealth.
Here is a handy way to help make these determinations. A friend once told me that he had learned in a sales course at IBM, decades ago, about a concept that went something like this and I may be mangling it so please forgive me. It was not meant for IT or Mentorship purposes, but I have adapted it..
I have seen birdbaths in shops that are more ornamental than useful. I wouldn’t choose an iron birdbath as these would rust. A major hardware superstore usually has terracotta birdbaths that are both cheap attractive I have seen plastic molded birdbaths that do the job for even cheaper. If the inside of the bowl is glazed or too deep, put some pebbles on the bottom up the sides so that a small bird can walk its way out if needed.Birds like to assess the area for safety before going to drink.

Often, jockeys from one radio station will collaborate with other stations and further create a community that not only listens to one station, but participates in almost all of the local stations regardless of listener ratings..
Grantland’s Kevin Nguyen could “hardly think of a book that feels more necessary, relevant and urgent” than Jeff Hobbs’ “The Short and Tragic Life of Robert Peace.” Within those pages, Hobbs recounts the life of an African American man named Robert Peace, who grew up amid the crime of Newark, New Jersey, in the ’80s with a father in prison and a mother making less than $15,000 a year. Peace’s academic success led him to study molecular biochemistry at Yale, but what occurs after his graduation is heartbreaking. Along with the all too short life of Michael Brown, Peace’s story serves as an incredible “(reminder) of the systemic problems that continue to claim the lives of young black men,” Nguyen wrote.
