My favourites:

Colour: blue (although I love playing with colour and contrast)

 Star sign: Cancer

 Meal: almost anything vegetarian

Comfort food: In a sweet mood it’s cake and custard, in a savoury mood it’s crusty bread and butter with chunks of feta cheese.

Artist: Beryl Cook – I love her humour

 Book: The Time Traveller’s Wife

TV programme: I don’t watch much but I must admit I never miss Coronation Street!

Holiday: anywhere with a quiet beach and somewhere to eat healthy, simple, veggie food.  Some places in Cornwall, Devon  and Greece all qualify! Sunshine helps, too.

Animal: our house-rabbit, Flopsy, who loves attention and cuddles.

Wendy Massey - Artist

Wendy paints and sells a range of bright, colourful, contemporary art on stretched, ready to hang, frameless canvas.  Her work is inspired by many things: beaches, nature, people, imagination, books, etc.  It’s really colour and shape from these initial sparks which inspire her. Getting excited about a row of beach huts is all just part of a holiday in Devon, and the family have had to learn to put up with it!

Wendy lives in Cheshire, UK with her partner and youngest child.  She has four children and two grandchildren.  When she’s not painting, she enjoys gardening, walking and reading. She loves visiting beaches, where she collects driftwood and shells, as well as bucket loads of inspiration.

Wendy’s background includes: teaching; designing craft projects for national magazines and books; mural and decorative furniture painting; and designing/making appliqué children’s wear. She has sketched and painted for as long as she can remember, certainly since early childhood, and has been selling art and craft work in various formats for over two decades.

Wendy did study textiles and art but decided not to take it to degree level, qualifying in teaching and English Language instead, after the regrettable advice that art was not a “proper career”.  Despite this, Wendy has always veered back to art in between teaching, other jobs and raising a family. Recent problems with severe and frequent migraine prompted Wendy to concentrate more on painting, finding that it helped to minimise the severity of attacks.  The discovery that she had missed painting and enjoyed it so much spurred her on, and the next logical step was to create a website featuring her art.

Wendy would like to invite you to visit her website at

and to return as often as you like, as it is regularly updated.  There’s also the option to sign up for her newsletter.
