AROMATHERAPY Aromatherapy is a very ancient art, it is the use of flower, fruit, tree and herb essences, they are extracted in the form of essential oils, to promote health and vitality, relieving nervous stress. The essential oils, which are known for their therapeutic qualities, are first blended with other oils this blend is designed to meet the client’s needs and requirements. The effect of these essential oils are utilised when applied in various forms, usually through massage, but also as inhalations or compresses. During treatment, the oils are absorbed through the skin enhancing the effect of the massage and the benefits will enable you to emerge refreshed and renewed. Aromatherapy can help with: Infertility & Menopausal problems PMT & Period problems Headaches & Migraines Muscular aches & pains Digestive Problems Water retention HOPI EAR CANDLING Thermo-Auricular therapy, or Hopi ear candling as this treatment is also known, is attributed to the Hopi Indians of North America. Evidence of this ancient technique can also be found in numerous cultures all over the globe. Thermo-auricular therapy can benefit: Ear blockages due to excessive wax Sinusitis and other sinus problems Headaches & migraines Eczema & psoriasis Relaxation Snoring A hollow tube of woven organic cotton is used as the candle, after soaking in beeswax containing essential oils. When the candle is lit, heat and fumes are pulled into the ear canal, helping soften and remove excessive wax, and massaging the eardrum. The therapeutic effects go very deep; the essential oils in the candles are absorbed into the body. The treatment is then enhanced by a facial massage, during which acupressure points on the face are activated.

Favourite: Colour: I am a big lilac & pink fan – very girly I know… Places: I love living in London, but I also like the country especially the Cotswolds, the area I come from. So it is wonderful that I am able to divide my time between the two places, I have a treatment room I use in the Cotswolds, at Holycombe, which is one of my favourite places. As well as running classes they do retreat weekends and therapies. They are at www.holycombe.com Celebrity or famous person: Louise Hay & Deepak Chopra. Animals and why: I am a great animal lover. I was brought up on a farm, and we were surrounded by animals. I am particularly fond of cats and horses. Plants and Trees: I only have a small patio in London, and as the buildings are so high I don’t get so much sun, but this makes it a challenge. Fragrance: As an aromatherapist this is a difficult one! I think it depends a lot of different factors, but as far as the essential oils I use go, I prefer the smell of the floral oils. From commercial perfumes, my favorite is Chanel No. 19. What professions are most appealing to you? My own, as well as therapies, I also work part time as a designer, I went to art college and started as a textile designer, but now most of my design work is more graphic for corporate use. I am very lucky and get the best of both worlds. What do you like most about your profession? That I can work from home, and plan my own time. If I want a day off then I simply don’t book clients in for that day.

REIKI Reiki means “universal life force energy.” It is an ancient healing technique, developed in Japan. It is a gentle yet powerful healing therapy, which restores balance encouraging your body to heal. Reiki can increase energy and vitality, reducing the likelihood of stress, illness and disease. Treatments take place with the client lying down fully clothed. Reiki flows through the body through the therapist’s hands to the areas it is most needed. It can help with: Period pains and hormonal imbalance Anxiety, depression and stress Rheumatic and Arthritic pain Lack of energy and vitality Migraine and headaches Back pain & Insomnia I use Reiki as part of other therapies I offer, to help enhance the effects. I can do distance healing, for which I do not need to see the client. REJUVANESSENCE In today’s stressful world, worry can show on your face, rejuvanessence can help reduce the effect. Just like any other area of your body, the muscles of the face need regular exercise and Rejuvanessence can provide that. It is a luxurious and deeply relaxing treatment; a gentle face massage, which can produce the effects of a non-surgical face-lift, leaving the skin noticeably smoother, firmer and more youthful. Rejuvanessence works on the meridian lines and acupuncture points, to restore a balanced flow of energy. It boosts the circulation of blood and lymph, decongesting and clearing toxins from the skin enhancing your natural radiance and vitality. This treatment can firm the skin, toning underlying muscles, leaving the face smooth and revitalised. It can also help prevent further damage occurring, and slow down the ageing process. Rejuvanessence can help with: Release of chronic headaches & shoulder pain Release of tension, stress and anxiety Reduction of fine lines and wrinkles Increased energy levels & vitality Slowing the ageing process Insomnia THE 'M' TECHNIQUE The "m" technique is a method of light touch designed specifically for use on those who are very fragile when massage may be inappropriate. Contact through touch is known to have such a huge effect on people. When used in hospitals it is known to dramatically improve the wellbeing of the patient and is renowned for its beneficial effects on the following conditions: Fear, Anxiety, Grief, Anger Chronic Pain, Chronic Fatigue Depression, Insomnia, Stress Migraines, Headaches Low immune function Essential oils can also be used in conjunction with this technique to enhance the effects. When used regularly in conjunction with conventional medicine the comfort level of the patient can be greatly increased resulting in less dependency on medication to control pain. The overall wellbeing of the patient can be significantly improved and lead to a shortened recovery period. The whole experience is deeply calming and the client is lulled into a deep state of relaxation. As the environment is more relaxed and in turn this makes the visits by friends and relatives more enjoyable.
